Mikel Arteta’s side take on the Magpies at the National Stadium in Singapore on Sunday, as the Spaniard looks to gel his new arrivals in with his pre-existing crop of players.

Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, and Kepa Arrizabalaga have all joined the ranks, and Mosquera could make his debut today following his recent switch from Valencia.

Madueke will not feature following his involvement at the Club World Cup with Chelsea, and this game will also come too soon for Viktor Gyokeres, who is expected to finalise his move to north London this weekend from Sporting Lisbon.

As for Newcastle, they will be without star striker Alexander Isak, who was left behind nursing a thigh injury, although rumours are swirling about his future, with reports claiming that the Swede wants out of St James’ Park.

Anthony Elanga could make his bow in the famous black and white, however, although Eddie Howe wants more reinforcements ahead of the new campaign.
