Arsenal host Athletic Club on Saturday evening for the latest edition of the Emirates Cup.

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to get back on track in their final outing before the new Premier League season begins, having suffered defeats in each of their last two pre-season tests against Tottenham and Villarreal.

Viktor Gyokeres is also seeking his first goal for the Gunners, and could have luck against a Bilbao-based opposition that have been beaten in five straight appearances, including a double-header against Liverpool earlier this week.

Arsenal have won five of the last six instalments of this pre-season competition at the Emirates Stadium, and - likely boosted by a few stars returning from injury - will be confident of doing so again this weekend, despite having never faced Los Leones before.

After playing the La Liga side at home, the Gunners travel to Old Trafford on the opening weekend of the 2025-26 campaign, headlining the action on Sunday, August 17. They’ll then return to north London to host newly-promoted Leeds United a week later, before another trip north to take on reigning league champions Liverpool at Anfield.
