The Africa Cup of Nations has arrived once more as the biggest teams on the continent compete for glory in Morocco.
This is the 35th edition of AFCON, traditionally a biennial tournament which it was recently announced will move to a four-year cycle after back-to-back competitions in 2027 and 2028 as a new annual African Nations League launches in 2029.
The last version - initially scheduled for the summer of 2023 - was delayed until early 2024 due to weather concerns in the Ivory Coast, where the hosts eventually came from behind to beat Nigeria in the final to triumph on home soil despite a dreadful start that saw them sack their manager.
Emerse Fae’s side face a fierce battle to retain their title, with 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Morocco the favourites to win only their second-ever AFCON title and first since 1976.
Mohamed Salah will hope to inspire Egypt’s bid for a record-extending eighth title after his recent drama at Liverpool, while Senegal and Algeria - led by Sadio Mane and Riyadh Mahrez, respectively - should also be in contention along with Nigeria, who, with Victor Osimhen in attack, will be eager to quickly banish the pain of their recent play-off defeat to DR Congo on penalties in World Cup qualifying.
Whereas Sky Sports held the UK rights for AFCON in 2023, this time it’s being shown live and free-to-air across Channel 4’s network after an exclusive broadcasting deal struck with the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) earlier in December.
With that in mind, here is how to watch every AFCON 2025 group stage game live in the UK on TV and online.
