Shane van Gisbergen earned his fifth win of the 2025 NASCAR Cup season at the Charlotte Roval, winning by ver 15 seconds.
Far behind him, his Trackhouse teammate Ross Chastain was in the middle of a wild fight to keeps his playoff hopes alive. Needing one point, he dove into the frontstretch chicane, wrecking Denny Hamlin and himself. Chastain rolled across the line in reverse, losing the final Round of 8 transfer spot to three-time and defending champion Joey Logano
Logano joins Team Penske teammate Ryan Blaney in the next round, along with three Hendrick Motorsports drivers (Kyle Larson, William Byron, Chase Elliott), and three Joe Gibbs Racing drivers (Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe).
The series now heads to Las Vegas, a race Logano was victorious in one year ago. However, the most recent winner came earlier this year, and that was the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford of Josh Berry.
