How to Use Cross-Save in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road

If early steam reviews for Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road are anything to go by, we have an excellent soccer JRPG on our hands. The game appears to incorporate a range of interesting shounen elements, featuring stylized and high-octane soccer gameplay alongside an anime art style. Cutscenes and a good chunk of the visuals are handled by legendary animation studio Mappa. So, there’s a lot to look forward to.

One of the more underrated features of this game is Cross-Save. As long as you link the game with an Epic Games account (which you can do on any platform), you can transfer your save between consoles. For example, if you buy the PS4 version of the game now and upgrade to a PS5 later, your progress will carry over. The same goes for Nintendo Switch to Switch 2.

Even more impressive is that with Cross-Buy, you don’t have to buy the game twice if you bought it on the same platform. However, the actual process is a bit confusing, so we’ll be providing a full breakdown.

Before we get into the actual steps, here are a few things you should know first:

  • You must link an Epic Games account to use Cross-Save across platforms.
  • Each platform still requires its own purchase of the game if you want to play on multiple consoles/PC.
  • On Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, Cross-Save also requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
  • If the platform you’re exporting the cross-save from has the Deluxe Edition, and the platform you’re importing to has the Standard Edition, the bonus content won’t appear. You’ll need to buy the Deluxe Edition upgrade on the new platform.

Exporting Save Data

To begin the cross-save process, you first have to export the save from the console you were previously playing on:

  • From the Title Menu of the game, go to Save.
  • In Save Data Management, select Upload to Cross-Save. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the upload process.
  • The game will ask you to Sign In to an Epic Games Account. If you don’t have one, you can create it from this menu.
  • Link your device to your Epic Games account.
  • Select Yes when you get a pop-up confirmation for the upload process.
  • An Overwrite Complete message will confirm the upload was successful.

Importing Save Data

  • On the new platform, go back to the Save menu, and under Save Data Management, select Download from Cross-Save.
  • You’ll again be asked to link your Epic Games account. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in.
  • For the pop-up “Overwrite local save data,” select Yes.
  • An Overwrite Complete message will confirm the upload was successful.

So far, there’s no official word on whether cross-save works from console to PC or vice versa, but the developers have confirmed that it works from Nintendo to PlayStation.
