If you have dipped your toes already into the Mega Dimension DLC of Pokémon Legends Z-A, chances are that you have already come across a task that requires you to use the catch window thrice.
A subpart of the Hyperspace Survey, you'll have to use the catch window three times to complete this task. Doing so will reward you with 750 points and complete the survey.
Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC: Catch window explained
While you might think that the catch window mechanic has been added as part of the DLC, it's not the case. The mechanic has been present in Pokémon Legends Z-A since its launch, and we have all been using it from the very beginning. The only difference is the introduction of a quest as part of the DLC that highlights the mechanic.
To complete the Hyperspace Survey, here's what you need to do.
- Spot a wild Pokémon in the open that you can attack.
- Instruct your Pokémon to attack and bring the enemy Pokémon's health down to zero.
- Knocking out the Pokémon is essential as the catch window won't be triggered otherwise.
- Throw a Poké Ball at the knocked-out Pokémon.
You'll need to be careful for the last part of the task. When you have knocked out the Pokémon, you'll have exactly one chance to capture it in the catch window.
If that happens, you'll have to retry the same method with another wild Pokémon. You can go through the list of all Poké Balls available in Pokémon Legends Z-A and use the one that offers the highest chances of success.
