Mirror Mode is one of the more confusing modes to unlock in Mario Kart World, but don't panic, as we are here to tell you what you need to do to get one of the game's iconic modes in the nick of time.
Be cautious, though, as unlocking the mode is a bit of a grind, and you might find yourself squinting at some of the requirements you need to take part. Some are fun, some are stress-inducing, while others are just a time sink.
How to get Mirror Mode in Mario Kart World

To unlock Mirror mode, you need to do the following tasks:
- Complete every Grand Prix in 150cc. It doesn't matter where you finish
- Complete every Knockout Tour course in 150cc. It doesn't matter where you finish
- Complete over 40 P Switch Missions in Free Roam
- Collect 10+ Peach Medallions
After completing the above, if you race on the Special Cup again and the credits roll, you should get a special cutscene where Mirror Mode unlocks. I should note that there is still a lot of confusion surrounding the way to unlock the mode, with some claiming that you may also need to have all costumes and characters unlocked, but this is not true.
There is also some confusion on whether you need to get three stars on all tracks or simply complete them all to get Mirror Mode. You do not need to get three stars or get first; just finish each course to unlock Mirror Mode.
It was hard to figure out what you needed at the time, so I started a brand new save file and did the bare minimum to collate the above information. I originally completed the Special Cup without getting over 10 Peach Medallions, and Mirror Mode didn't unlock. That is when I knew what the missing piece was for my new save file experiment.
Oh, and when you have unlocked Mirror Mode, head to Peach's Castle in Free Roam and drive into the stained glass window you see in the cutscene to make Free Roam become mirrored as well!
