Gremlin is a new submachine gun in Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 5, and it’s tied to the Battle Pass rather than a challenge, event, or store bundle.
You’ll need to keep progressing through the Battle Pass pages until you reach the Gremlin unlock tier. Once unlocked, the weapon carries over across BO7 and Warzone.
How to unlock Gremlin SMG in BO7 and Warzone
Gremlin is unlocked through Page 6 HVT of the Season 5 Battle Pass. To get Gremlin, use the free track if you only want the rewards marked Free.
Then, play matches in any public mode to earn Battle Pass XP and Tokens and spend them on the Battle Pass pages until you reach the Gremlin tier. Claim the reward to unlock Gremlin permanently on your Activision account.
You can also purchase the Battle Pass and get it as a Page 12 HVT Tier Blueprint, but that will require pushing through a fair chunk of the pass before you can claim it.
Fastest way to unlock Gremlin
If you want Gremlin as fast as possible, focus on Battle Pass XP. Weekly Challenges, normal match play, and any XP boosts are the safest ways to move through the pass faster, since all public-game-mode XP contributes toward Battle Pass Tokens.
Play objective-heavy modes to maximize match XP. Use Double Battle Pass XP events or tokens when available. If you own BlackCell, the 10% Battle Pass XP boost helps speed things up.
Gremlin is built for aggressive close-range fights, so pair it with perks and attachments that help mobility, sprint-to-fire speed, and hipfire control. Since the weapon already leans into speed, it makes the most sense in fast-paced multiplayer and close-quarters Warzone modes like Resurgence.
Gremlin is one of the new Season 5 weapons alongside the FG42 Assault Rifle, Mammoth LMG (an in-season event reward), and Mace melee weapon (an in-season weekly challenge reward), with high damage, long range, and slow attack speed.
Gremlin SMG details in BO7 and Warzone
Gremlin is an SMG with 47 levels, 4 mags, and a 26-round magazine. It’s a dual submachine gun setup with excellent mobility and firepower, but it cannot ADS, so it is built for close-range hipfire play, mimicking Akimbo.
The attachment options include Muzzle, Barrel, Magazine, Rear Grip, Stock, Laser, and Fire Mods. Its Prestige Attachment is the 9” MFS Cestus Barrel. The Universal Weapon Prestige Camos for the Gremlin are:
- Prestige 1 – Frequency
- Prestige 2 – Core
- Prestige Max – Bath Time
