How to unlock Champion Secret Character in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

Champion is one of the most dangerous fighters in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, but he is not available right away.

To add him to your roster, you must complete a specific Episode and defeat Champion across several difficult battles. The process takes some time, and here’s everything you need to know about unlocking Champion, including which Episode to choose.

Quick summary

  • Champion is unlocked by completing the Fighting Avengers Episode in Episode Mode.
  • You must finish all 11 chapters and defeat Champion’s Primordial and Awakened forms.
  • The Episode takes around 90 minutes, depending on your difficulty and experience.
  • Once unlocked, Champion can be used in other game modes but not in Episode Mode.

How to unlock Champion in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

To unlock Champion, you must complete all 11 chapters of the Fighting Avengers Episode. Champion becomes available after you defeat his final forms at the end of the Episode.

All you need to do is:

  1. Open the main menu and select Episode Mode
  2. Choose the Fighting Avengers Episode
  3. Complete all 11 chapters
  4. Finish the story battles, the Promoter encounter, and the final Champion battles
  5. Defeat the Champion’s final forms to unlock him as a playable character

You don’t need to complete every Episode in the game. The Fighting Avengers Episode follows Captain America as he brings together Iron Man, Black Panther, and Hulk to enter Champion’s tournament. The team takes part in the tournament to protect Earth from destruction.

How long it takes to unlock the Champion in Marvel Tokon

The Fighting Avengers Episode should take around 90 minutes to complete, although your total time will depend on the difficulty setting and how comfortable you are with the game’s combat system. The Episode combines fights with comic-style story scenes and anime-inspired cutscenes.

Most of the regular battles are straightforward. You generally need to win two rounds before your opponent does, but the Promoter fight and the final Champion encounters work differently.

During the Episode, you will fight members of the Fighting Avengers team, other participating teams, and Champion himself. You will also face the Promoter in a special battle that focuses more on building your Skill Gauge than winning a standard match.

How to beat the Promoter in Marvel Tokon

During the Promoter battle, make sure to build your Skill Gauge while dealing with the Promoter’s shield. Try to use this strategy during this battle:

  1. Attack the Promoter until she activates her shield
  2. Stop attacking her directly while she is protected
  3. Hit the projectile she throws at you to continue increasing your Skill Gauge
  4. Wait for the shield to disappear
  5. Resume attacking the Promoter
  6. Repeat the process when the shield returns
  7. Perform a Tokon Assemble when the spotlight appears

You can activate the Tokon Assemble by pressing the Light Attack button repeatedly while attacking the Promoter. The Promoter’s shield gives you a clear pattern to follow. Focus on hitting the projectiles instead of wasting attacks against her while she is invulnerable.

How many times do you fight Champion?

You fight Champion three times in a row during the final section of the Episode. Each battle becomes more difficult, and Champion gets additional attacks and mechanics as the fights continue.

Champion initially plays defensively and becomes more aggressive after losing roughly 60 percent of his health. Use this opening phase to learn his attack patterns and avoid spending all your resources too early.

The next two battles are tougher. You must defeat Champion’s Primordial form first, followed by his Awakened form. Both fights require you to win two rounds.

How to defeat the Champion in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

Champion deals heavy damage. He can take away a large portion of your health with a single combo, especially during the later battles.

Block more often than you normally would against regular opponents. Do not challenge Champion after every attack, and wait for a clear opening. Save your Skill Gauge for confirmed combos or defensive situations. Use assists to interrupt his pressure when you are trapped in the corner. Avoid attacking recklessly when Champion begins using his stronger forms. Watch for projectiles, Counters, and Crossover attacks.

Champion can also summon after-images of himself during Assemble attacks. These can make it difficult to tell which attack is coming next, so avoid pressing buttons blindly when several versions of him appear on screen.

When do you get Champion?

Champion unlocks immediately after you defeat both his Primordial and Awakened forms and complete the Fighting Avengers Episode. You can then select him in the game’s other modes, but he cannot be used inside Episode Mode.

You do not need to purchase Champion separately. The 21st character does not use the same Assemble mechanic as the other fighters. Instead, he focuses on his own strength, grappling attacks, poses, and powerful combos.

He can also build his Pride Gauge, which helps him access his Awakened form after using a Super on an opponent. Champion is a good choice if you prefer playing as one powerful fighter instead of constantly switching between teammates.

Can you unlock Champion without completing the story?

No, you must complete the Fighting Avengers Episode, including its final Champion battles.

Do you need to complete every Episode?

No, only completing the Fighting Avengers Episode is required.

Do you have to defeat Champion three times?

Yes, the final section includes the initial Champion battle, followed by encounters against his Primordial and Awakened forms.

Does the difficulty setting affect the unlock?

Yes, a lower difficulty setting can make the boss battles easier.
