Arcade-style racing games live and die by the courses on offer, with a good variety helping to keep a game feeling fresh and fun for a long time. This is why a lot of racing games gate off some of their courses and their racers behind locks. This provides some of the racing run right out of the gate while also providing you with something to build toward in your racing as you complete achievements and gain entry to new courses.
In Kirby Air Riders, developers struck a nice balance, offering just under half the courses at the start of the game for some variety while still leaving plenty in reserve to unlock as you play. Fortunately for players, none of the challenges to unlock new courses are overly difficult, meaning you’ll likely do so automatically as you play. If there’s a particular course you’re looking for, however, we have you covered with our guide to the courses in Kirby Air Riders and how to unlock them.
How Many Air Ride Courses Are Available At The Start Of Kirby Air Riders

Although there are 18 total courses to unlock in Kirby Air Riders, not all of them require you to do anything special to unlock them. When you first load up the game, there are eight courses already unlocked by default, so you have some variety to explore even before you begin unlocking additional courses. The initial eight courses are:
- Airtopia Ruins
- Cavernous Corners
- Cyrstalline Fissure
- Cyberion Highway
- Flora Fields
- Mount Amberfalls
- Steamgust Forge
