One savvy shopper has shared their nifty trick that will save your pride and make it easy every time, Cambridge Live reports.
The hack was posted on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, with the caption: "Just a Sunday tip. If you don't have a pound coin or a trolley coin put two 20s together & boom it will work."
It sounds like the perfect solution - but be warned that there could be a catch.
Some group members said that they'd already tried - and the two coins had a habit of getting stuck.
One said: "I was embarrassed in Aldi as I did this they got stuck and jammed and a manager had to come out to fix it, very very embarrassing "
While another wrote: "Tried this and it works but I couldn't get my 20ps back, jammed the trolley."
Other suggestions included using the key from a tin of corned beef or house keys.
Our tip? Plan ahead and check you've got a pound coin before you hit the shops.
