How to turn the Sky Sports crowd noise on and off for Premier League matches

With the new 2020/21 Premier League season, one thing which is unfortunately the same as Project Restart is the absence of fans at stadiums.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, matches remain behind closed doors and fans must soak up the action from home.

To help combat that, broadcasters have adopted fake crowd noise to plug the gap.

The interactive crowd noise feature somewhat divided opinion when it was first introduced in the post-lockdown Premier League matches over the summer.

Sky Sports linked up with EA Sports FIFA to produce the "bespoke and team-specific" crowd noises and chants in a bid to add some atmosphere to fans’ experience of viewing at home.

But viewers can often choose whether they have it or not.

How can I turn crowd noise on Sky Sports on or off?

Sky Sports say viewers can choose between the added crowd sound or just stadium noise.

it's Sky Sports Main Event if you want crowd noise and Sky Sports Premier League if you don't.

If you're watching in Ultra HD you don't get the choice - it's mandated noise for you. Ultra HD games are once again available with Dolby Atmos.

Sky Sports is also available through Virgin Media and BT TV.

Sky Sports Main Event is channel 401 on Sky while Premier League is channel 402.
