Manchester Pride will be returning this weekend and will see the bright and colourful parade sweep through the city.
The four-day event will see thousands of Mancunians and visitors from all over the world gather in the city centre to show their love and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Due to a wide range of events happening across the city, there will be a number of road closures and diversions in place.
Meanwhile, members of the public are encouraged to travel around the city on public transport over the weekend. In fact, there are actually a couple of ways you can do this for free.

Free Metroshuttle
The free shuttle buses pick up outside Manchester Piccadilly Station and travel to key areas including Oxford Road, Deansgate, Portland Street and Spinningfields. The Metroshuttle is fully accessible with step-free access to pavements.
Travel on the tram for free
People who have purchased Manchester Pride tickets can exchange them for Pledge Bands at the event's ticket exchange spots. Customers who have these bands can travel for free between Metrolink Zone 1 stops - which include all the stops within the bounds of the city centre - from Friday, August 26 and Monday, August 29.
Transport for Greater Manchester has warned passengers of tram services being held for short periods of time as the Pride Parade crosses the Metrolink tracks at St Peter's Square. The nearest Metrolink stops to the Parade are St. Peter’s Square, Deansgate Castlefield, Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly.
