How to take a closer look at the moon in Notts

Kids and grown-ups alike can discover the magic of the night sky at a whole evening dedicated to the Earth's own celestial satellite, The Moon.

Visitors will even have the chance to hold real-life meteorites at the International Observe The Moon Night taking place at Sherwood Observatory, in Coxmoor road, Sutton in Ashfield, on Saturday, October 5 from 6.45pm.

For one night only the observatory will be open for all to view the night sky through a variety of telescopes and there will also be rolling talks every 30 minutes as well as space-themed merchandise and refreshments available to buy.
