How to survive the Final Swarm for 6 minutes in Megabonk

The Final Swarm represents the ultimate test in Megabonk, and surviving at least six minutes of it can feel like a trip to hell.

The Final swarm begins when you defeat a stage boss. The swarm has strong enemies who spawn infinitely. These creatures can do more damage than your regular enemies and keep coming endlessly.

However, surviving them can be easier than you might think.

What is the Final Swarm in Megabonk

The Final Swarm represents the ending gauntlet where enemies spawn endlessly. It's triggered when the final stage boss is dead. You can travel through the portal to the next stage, or survive the Final Swarm for as long as possible.

You'll unlock the Soul Harvester item if you can outlast it for six minutes. The Legendary-tier item will be provided to you as a reward for surviving the Final Swarm for six minutes.

You can use any character you want to complete this quest, but you'll have to be specific with your build. Here are my top recommendations for outlasting the Final Swarm for six minutes.

  • Character: Megachad
  • Weapons: Aura (primary) is an excellent choice for leveling up Megachad as the passive grants him XP. It also strikes down enemies as they get close. Always prioritize your upgrades towards improving Aura. For other weapons, you'll want to go with Aegis and Bone. Aegis provides Megachad with a shield while damaging enemies when they attack. Bone adds a bit of range to your build, and you don't have to aim.
  • Tomes: To survive the final swarm, you must make Megachad sustain his health. That can be best done with the Regen tome. It's impossible not to take damage from the Final Swarm. Hence, you must have a high rate of Regen to recapture your health before the HP pool drops to 0. You'll also want to add Attack Speed and Damage tomes to control the swarm from getting too big. This will ensure that the mobs are killed by two hits, allowing you to dominate the map.

Here's a quick rundown of the weapons and tomes to use (assuming you opt for Megachad).

Type Choices
Weapons Aura
Aegis
Bone
Lightning Staff
Tomes Regen
Damage
Attack Speed

When it comes to the items, things will be much more random. However, here are some choices you should always aim to pick up (pending they appear on your run).

  • Sucky Magnet: Pulls in XP around you, and helps level up quicker.
  • Turbo Socks: Megachad is slightly slow, and this item makes him more mobile by raising his movement speed.
  • Beefy Ring: Adds an extra pool of HP (so you die less), and raises your damage along the way.
  • Time Bracelet: Provides +8% XP gain, which fits the theme.

Ultimately, there's no magic formula to last for over six minutes against the Final Swarm. You'll have to build your character properly and farm consistently. Then, summon the stage boss as applicable, defeat it, and prepare to meet the wrath of the Final Swarm.
