We’re rapidly approaching the end of Fortnite: Battle Royale’s fifth season. Week 8 is almost over, and Week 9 challenges are just around the bend.
While Season 5 had some weird twists and turns and a few lulls in the action, things really picked up in the past week or so, with some crazy live events leading to an even crazier new addition to the map.
Alongside that we have another week of challenges to solve, and at least one very cool secret you’ll want to uncover.
Here’s a round up of all the challenges, secrets and new content that dropped (or was announced) in Fortnite this past week.
Week 8 Challenges
You can see all the Season 5, Week 8 challenges and how to solve them here.
- Here’s where to search between three oversized seats.
- Here’s where to use 10 different rifts and where to find the spawn locations.
Road Trip Challenge

We saw the reveal of the Road Trip Challenge Outfit in Week 7, and after that we assumed that there would be no more hidden Battle Stars in the weekly Road Trip Loading Screens.
That turned out to be true. However, in the Week 8 Loading Screen there was still a secret. If you complete all that week’s challenges and have unlocked the Road Trip skin you’ll find a hidden Tomato Head banner in Tomato Temple.
New High Stakes Event Incoming

Epic Games also revealed a new special, limited-time event called High Stakes coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale next week.
The new event features The Getaway LTM, which tasks players with stealing a jewel and getting away from other teams in order to win. Along with the new mode are a suite of new (and totally free) challenges and rewards as well as new cosmetics and the incredible new Wild Card skin.
- Check out the Wild Card Outfit here.
- Take a look at The Getaway LTM here.
- See all the free rewards and challenges here.
CUBE Keeps Rolling

Meanwhile, the massive live event that saw lightning smashing a hilltop near Paradise Palms resulted in the advent of CUBE. First CUBE began moving slowly across the map. Then it began creating strange anti-gravity fields. Finally, the giant purple box burned giant purple runes into the ground, which players are still trying to decipher. What will it do next?
Almost certainly the CUBE has something to do with last season’s Visitor, though how the two seasons will reach a confluence and spit out Season 6 remains a mystery.
New Content

Epic Games has announced a new Grappler item which you can read about here. The developer has also vaulted the Revolver.
Fortnite also released a new Starter Pack with the exclusive Ace Outfit which you can see here.
That’s all folks!
Week 9 starts this week with a new patch, new skins and other cosmetics and a bunch of new free and Battle Pass challenges. The season is almost over, so be sure to wrap up everything you can to unlock the Ragnarok Outfit, Road Trip Outfit and more.
