How to slay the Queen in Fortnite Chapter 6 season 4

Bugs are taking over Fortnite Island, spreading across the map and overwhelming players in every corner. Strange hives have appeared, and the sky is swarming with hostile creatures. But the invasion isn’t for no reason—the Bug Queen is the powerful force behind it all.

Fortnite Chapter Six, season four brings massive worm-like creatures that drop top-tier loot, but tracking them down won’t be easy. If you’re ready to take on the ultimate challenge and face the fearsome Queen Bug, here’s everything you need to know.

How to find the Queen Bug in Fortnite Chapter 6 season 4

The Queen Bug burrows deep beneath the island, and you can’t face her right away because you’ll need to defeat her minions first at any of the three points of interest. These include the Hive, Ranger’s Ruin, and Demon’s Debris. After landing at one of these spots, you’ll notice a bar on the top of your screen, which’ll ask you to neutralize the threat.

You can neutralize the threat by slowly killing the Swarmer and Bomber bugs on the ground, frequently making their way out of the Hive and attacking you. The quickest way to bring the threat bar down is by destroying the yellow-colored Hive Stashes and Hive Swarms, which keep producing the Swarmers to attack you. After a while, the threat bar should be empty, and that’s when the Queen Bug burrows out to the surface for the boss fight with you.

All three of these locations have a Queen Bug, which gives you a unique Medallion with powerful effects and other legendary loot, but more on that later.

How to defeat the Queen Bug in Fortnite Chapter 6 season 4

Once the Queen Bug spawns in the centre, she’ll always target the enemies in the front first and then attack the enemies near her. She spawns in the middle hole, but after she takes some damage, she can also use the burrow to spawn in another hole, which could be closer to you.

The Queen Bug mainly has two attacks: Acid shots and Swarmer spawns. For the Acid shots, the Queen Bug shoots acid balls in the sky, and they’ll come toward you as projectiles, which can be dodged. They do deal decent damage, so make sure to stop your fire and move out of the way to avoid taking the hit. The Swarmer spawns allow the Queen to go down and spit out some Swarmers that jump toward you. They’re pretty easy to kill.

In our experience, the Bug Blaster was always the best choice to defeat the Queen Bug while not using traditional weapons because it causes a lot of damage to the slug, especially if you aim toward its head. Just like any boss fight, your biggest threat isn’t the boss itself but the sneaky player lurking in the shadows, waiting to eliminate you and claim the rewards for themselves, so make sure you clear the area before starting the fight.
