How to skip the festival in Deltarune Chapter 5

The new chapter in Deltarune begins with the festival, but you can save time by skipping it. At first, I thought that the festival couldn’t be skipped, and you have to complete it to access the Dark World.

However, you can avoid that and directly start your adventure in the Dark World.

How to avoid the festival in Deltarune Chapter 5

The key to skipping the festival is hidden in the very beginning of the chapter. However, you can’t skip the festival until you have completed Chapter 5 at least once. This involves defeating Flowery (the final boss) and returning from the Dark World. If you have seen the credits, it means that your save is complete.

When you start a new save, the opening sequence is the same. Wait for Kris to retrieve his soul. Once you’re controlling Kris, don’t step out of the room. Instead, interact with the bed on the right.

You’ll get a warning that if you go to sleep, you’ll miss important story events. If you still decide to sleep, the screen will go dark. Next, you’ll wake up directly inside the Dark World and continue your journey as usual.

The remaining events that take place on your journey will be identical to how they happened during your first run. However, how you go around with the rest of your journey will depend on the decisions you make.

Additionally, the ability to skip the festival scene is also separate from getting the Weird Route ending. Once again, we have a new Weird Route version available in Chapter 5. It’s way shorter than the standard ending, and it gets as bizarre as you might think.
