How to see Little Amal as she returns to London

The 12ft (3.7m) puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee called ‘Little Amal’ is returning to London.

The centrepiece of performance art project The Walk, Little Amal has come to symbolise human rights and bring hope, the project says.

Since 2021, the puppet has toured 5,600 miles, visiting 13 countries across Europe and the US.

She last visited London last year, where she stopped by Tower Bridge, Leadenhall Market, and St Paul's Cathedral.

But when is Little Amal visiting the UK next and how can you support her cause?

Where has Little Amal visited?

Since 2021, the puppet has toured 9,000km (5,600 miles) and visited 13 countries including Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Italy, France, and the US.

Everywhere Amal goes she is greeted with Events of Welcome, which are community-created events that have been created to be meaningful to the local people she meets.

Where is Little Amal visiting next?

Amal will be in London and Brighton from March 29 to April 2, 2023, for a festival of welcome, celebration, and friendship.

She will lead an interfaith celebration in the London Borough of Camden, work with City of London business leaders to raise money for displaced children throughout the globe, lead a walk of hope across Brighton Beach, and organise a sponsored walk on London's Hampstead Heath.

How to support The Walk’s Amal Fund

Children make up half of all refugees, and all refugee children who are of school age have lost their chance to receive a formal education. Tens of thousands of people who have escaped conflict and persecution right now desperately need assistance.

The Walk's Amal Fund with Choose Love was launched to aid these children as part of the project. The fund assists grassroots organisations financed by Choose Love that offer academic preparation and education in addition to giving people access to food, housing, and healthcare, wherever their new home is.
