How To Score Easy Free Kick Goals In EA FC 26

A great way to get an edge and seal out a win when faced with the park the bus meta, very few things can set you apart in EA FC 26 like the ability to consistently score free-kick goals.

But although aiming at the corners might be inviting, there’s actually a technique that all but guarantees success. To help you start your streak, here’s how to score easy mid and close-distance free kick goals in EA FC 26, as well as how to perform and score with Ronaldinho’s classic under-the-wall shot.

How To Score Easy Free Kick Goals In EA FC 26

No matter your opponent, you can easily score free-kick goals in EA FC 26 by first selecting a player with good attributes and ideally the Dead Ball PlayStyle. With that sorted, move your on-ball cursor to the left (if facing the goal from the right) or the right (if facing it from the left) until your shot type is changed to an Outside/Inside Foot Curled.

As the shot sees the ball trivela toward the target, the next step is to aim it at the space between the keeper and the last member of the wall before shooting with around 3 to 3/5 power. For those having trouble finding the sweet spot, simply aim at the area where an extra member of the wall would be, as seen in the images below.

When close to the semi-circle or if faced with a 5-player wall, aiming toward the outside of the goal and performing an Inside Foot Curled (from the left) or an Outside Foot Curled (from the right) also allows you to score 9 out of 10 times. Just be quick, as your opponent can easily counter this technique by placing one of their players close to the sticks.

When attempting all shots, changing your kick taker based on their main foot can also further boost your chances. To recap, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to score free kick goals in EA FC 26:

  • Move the cursor to the right/left side of the ball until your shot becomes an Outside Foot Curled (if facing the goal from the left) or an Inside Foot Curled (if facing it from the right).
  • Aim at the side of the last member of the wall (the closest player to the keeper)
  • Perform a regular shot (O/B) with ideally 3 to 3/5 power. (This is a must, as anything less will make the keeper likely to stop it)
  • Celebrate.

Best Players With The Dead Ball PlayStyle

As mentioned above, using a player with the Dead Ball PlayStyle can boost the success rate of your shots even against well-prepared opponents. Here are the best players with the Dead Ball PlayStyle in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team:

  • Dead Ball+
    1. Roberto Carlos (RB / 90 OVR)
    2. Aya Miyama (LM / 90 OVR)
    3. Kelly Smith (ST / 89 OVR)
    4. David Beckham (RM / 88 OVR)
    5. Ronald Koeman (CB / 88 OVR)
  • Dead Ball
    • Diego Maradona (CAM / 95 OVR)
    • Ronaldinho (RW / 93 OVR)
    • Zico (CAM / 91 OVR)
    • Hristo Stoichkov (ST / 89 OVR)
    • Cornerstones Claudia Pina (LW / 87 OVR)

If you are not made of money or did not get lucky enough to pack the above, Gold Rare Lionel Messi and Gold Rare Guro Reiten also have the regular version of the PlayStyle and are, in my view, the best options under 15K. Both cards also feel amazing in open play, thus making the deal even better.

How To Score Under The Wall Free Kicks Goals

Although way less reliable than the above and not recommended for competitive play, you can perform and score with under-the-wall free kicks in EA FC 26 by placing your cursor at the upper portion of the ball for an Inside Foot Low (if facing the right side of the goal), or an Outside Foot Low Shot (if facing it the left). Now, aim at the right foot of the member of the wall closest to the keeper and add at least 3 bars of power.

If you wish, you can also get the ball under the wall in FC 26 with Low Straight shots and score with them by aiming at the edges of the goal. Doing the latter will demand a lot of luck, though.

How To Practice Free Kicks In EA FC 26

For those who want to master the art of set pieces but do not want to keep orchestrating fouls in Kick Off mode, you can practice free kicks in EA FC 26 by heading to Learn to Play and entering the Practice Arena. When at it, pause and then head to Free Kick to place the ball anywhere you wish and start.

To make sure you have the best player for the job, go to Settings under the Main Menu before heading to Team Sheet, selecting your favorite team, and then placing your chosen player at the RB position. Remember, in Practice Arena, only your starting RB can take free kicks.

To tune your experience even further, make sure to also take a look at the Best EA FC 26 Settings And Sliders. We also highly recommend checking out the best CAM Build for Clubs. After all, you must do more than just score if you wish to clinch a spot within your club’s starting 11.
