We all love the 1980s, whether we lived through it or just appreciate its huge contribution to our culture.

The 80s were a vibrant decade that hold fond memories for those that lived through them, and a taste of the past for those that didn't.

While a lot of 80s activities might be less common now - there are still places you can find them.

Leeds is full of places you can recreate the spirit and nostalgia of an iconic decade.

Here are five 80s inspired activities you can get up to in the city.

1. Roller skating

Roller skating was hugely popular in the 80s - and there's a place in Leeds you can try it out yourself.

Roller Girl Gang organises classes, challenges, meet ups and parties for anyone in Leeds who wants to give roller skating a go.

You can recreate your very own roller disco with them for children or adults - and the disco can come with light up skates, a photobooth, a glitter station, slushies, and vegan donuts.

Visit Roller Girl Gang's website for more details.

2. Browse vintage records

Head to one of Leeds's many record stores to browse hundreds of vinyl from 80s artists and more.

Crash Records on The Headrow opened in 1985, and offers a variety of vinyl and even cassette tapes. You can buy albums by New Order, Madness and many more.

Relic Records on New Briggate specialises in old classics. They have lots of 80s artists such as Kim Wilde, the Pet Shop Boys, and Simple Minds.

3. Have a drink to retro music

There are plenty of bars and clubs across Leeds playing old music to let you pretend like you're dancing in the 80s. Popworld and Pryzm are particularly known for playing cheesy tunes.

MOJO Bar on Merrion Street exclusively plays retro music on vinyl, complete with classic cocktails.

4. See an 80s movie

The 80s gave us hundreds of enduring classic movies. You can catch some of them in Leeds cinemas over the next few months.

Vue is showing both Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) from September 17.
