How to recreate takeaway style doner kebabs at home using just a slow cooker

We've made it through January and those pesky New Year's resolutions may have dwindled.

But if one of yours was to quit the takeaways or at least cut back, this could be the thing you were looking for.

As not only is it better for you, you don't even have to step out of the house.

This is because a super-savvy Facebook group has shared an easy trick that can help you create your very own doner kebabs at home and there's barely any fuss.

All you need is a slow cooker and a potato peeler (and the actually ingredients, of course).

The end result is just like the real thing. What more could you ask for.

Sharing the tip to the Slow Cooker Recipe and Tips Facebook group, the post said that all you need to do is season the lamb mince, shape it into a loaf and wrap in foil.

Then simply pop it in the slow cooker and crack on with the rest of your jobs for around five to six hours.

Once the time has passed, you'll have your very own doner kebab meat.

And the next trick, use a potato peeler to carve up your meat. Genius.

The post has received hundreds of comments with impressed members also giving it go.

"I followed this last night and it was wonderful. Thank you," one Facebook poster said.

Another commented: "I had this tonight and it was delicious."

Now we're wondering what else we can throw into the slow cooker.
