How To Preorder MLB The Show 26: All Editions And Prices

Over the past few days, more and more official details about MLB The Show 26 have been revealed. The most recent bit of news we’ve received was the first gameplay trailer, which also came with a flurry of other announcements. This includes details about the editions for MLB The Show 26, which means that preorders have officially gone live for all platforms.

For anyone looking to find out how to preorder the new baseball game, learn about the editions and their benefits, or simply see if any of the editions are worth buying, keep reading the guide below.

How To Preorder MLB The Show 26

First and foremost, you’ll want to know the methods of preordering MLB The Show 26 before you do anything. Preordering comes with various benefits, regardless of which edition of the game you purchase, and it also means you can pre-download the file on your console so you can play right as it launches.

Fortunately, the preorder process hasn’t changed much, if at all, from previous years. The game is still coming to the same consoles as MLB The Show 25, so you can play it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Curiously, there’s still no launch for the Nintendo Switch 2, so we might have to wait until next year to see a release on the newer Nintendo console.

To preorder MLB The Show 26, all you have to do is visit your console’s online marketplace, which you can do right from the console itself. On PlayStation, head to the PS Store; on Xbox, go to the Microsoft Store; and on Nintendo Switch, you can visit the Nintendo eShop. Of course, there are also online websites for all of these stores if you don’t want to go through your console.

Whether you’re online or going through your console, just sign into your preferred account, find the edition of MLB The Show 26 you want to purchase, and go through the buying process. If you’re digitally preordering, you will have to fully buy the game, which means spending at least $70 on PlayStation and Xbox or $60 on Nintendo Switch.

However, if you opt to use an in-person retailer, such as Best Buy, GameStop, etc., then you might be able to only put down $5 for a preorder. This way, you can pay for the bulk of the purchase when MLB The Show 26 launches in March. Of course, going through a retailer does mean you’ll be purchasing a physical copy of the game, so you want to ensure you have a console capable of running physical discs (mainly PlayStation 5 players).

All MLB The Show 26 Editions And Preorder Content

Now that you fully understand how to preorder MLB The Show 26, it’s time to figure out which edition you want to purchase. The developers have confirmed there will be no physical Collector’s Edition of the game this year, so anyone holding out hope for some real world items will likely be disappointed.

Still, though, the various editions do come with some intriguing in-game content, so let’s take a look at what’s on offer:

MLB The Show 26 Standard Edition ($60 / $70)

  • MLB The Show 26
  • 5 The Show Packs
  • Gold Choice Pack (preorder bonus)

MLB The Show 26 Digital Deluxe Edition ($100)

  • MLB The Show 26
  • 20 The Show Packs
  • 2 WBC Choice Packs
  • 1 Legend Choice Pack
  • 1 WBC Uniform Pack
  • 1 Equipment Pack
  • Double Daily Rewards
  • 1 Cover Athlete Bat Skin Pack
  • 20,000 Stubs
  • Gold Choice Pack (preorder bonus)
  • Up to four days of early access (launches on March 13) (preorder bonus)

As you can see, there are only two editions, but if you’re planning on buying a physical copy, you’re limited to just the Standard Edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition is only available to purchase digitally, which means if you want to play four days early, you’ll have to buy a digital copy of MLB The Show 26.

Aside from that tidbit, the Digital Deluxe Edition certainly gives you a solid bang for your buck. You get a huge headstart with the various packs and the 20,000 Stubs, as well as Double Daily Rewards for the duration of the game. Of course, it’s up to you to decide if the extra $30-40 is worth all of that content or if you’re better off sticking with the Standard Edition.

You can preorder MLB The Show 26 all the way up until it launches on March 17, so you have until then to make your choice. Early access launches on March 13, though, so that’s the first date to keep in mind.
