Madden 26’s early access is out, and we’ve all seen the online H2H or local co-op play features. But what if you wanted to combine the two? Playing as a duo (or trio) against another random team online? Well, if you search for it in the features, you might not find it immediately.
To save you some time, we’ve found the best way to play with your buddy online without having to get everyone together. Add your friend, wherever they are, and put your skills to the test.
Is Playing Madden 26 2V2 Online Possible?
Yes, playing 2V2 online in Madden 26 is definitely possible, but not in the way you think. There are a few extra steps if you’re not at the same location. Annoying? Yes. But worth it? Definitely. You can use this method for both 2V2 and 3V3 games, so gather your friends for some much-awaited gaming sessions.
If you’re wondering why you can’t find it in the Quick Play menu, that’s because it’s not there. Rather, this type of gameplay requires going through Ultimate Team. Let’s explain how it’s done.
How To Play 2V2 Online In Madden 26?
We mentioned that 2V2 online play is possible through the Ultimate Team mode. Here’s a step-by-step to help you understand:
- Go to Ultimate Team mode and select Play A Friend

- You’ll see two options, H2H PAF and Squads PAF. Select Squads PAF

- Once you’re there, you’ll see a UI with two teams on either side, displaying a list of your friends who are currently online. You can choose to invite whichever friend you want, as long as they are online.
- Depending on whether you’re playing 2V2 or 3V3, your team will need to fill the three roles. The AI will autofill any unfilled roles.
- Once you’ve invited your friends and picked your roles, go into matchmaking. You will find random duos or trios to face off with.

- This is currently the only method to play as a duo or trio with your friends online.
This makes things super easy since everyone doesn’t need to be gathered in one place, unlike local play. You can play with your friends from the ease of your home. Remember that no two players can play the same role, so make sure you decide who will play what beforehand. Coordination is key when you’re going up against other random teams online.
