Elden Ring Nightreign will launch worldwide on May 30 for both PC and consoles, but there is a trick for you to play it earlier than the rest of the world.
While the date remains the same, Bandai Namco has decided to follow a different launch timing for these two platforms. Nightreign will have regional release timings for consoles, and that’s how you can play the game earlier, especially on Xbox.
Play Elden Ring Nightreign early on Xbox using the New Zealand trick
PlayStation console owners, I have bad news for you. The New Zealand trick is only applicable to Xbox console owners.
Here’s how you can change your region to New Zealand on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One:
- Head over to the console settings.
- Under System, choose Language & Location.
- From the list of available regions, select New Zealand.
- Save the settings.
- Restart your console.
Follow the steps mentioned above, and your console will start showing New Zealand time.
When does Elden Ring Nightreign launch in New Zealand?
Elden Ring Nightreign will launch at midnight on May 30 all over the world (including New Zealand), not only for Xbox but for PlayStation as well.
It’s just that the NZST time zone is way ahead of others, enabling players to do the trick of playing it early on Xbox consoles.
Is there any way PlayStation players can play Elden Ring Nightreign early?
There is a way, which needs you to create a new PSN account where the location will have to be set to New Zealand right from the start. There are both pros and cons to this method:
- You have to go through a tedious process of setting up a fresh account.
- Once set, you can simply use it for other and future releases as well, where the games will have regional release timings.
- Creating a fresh PSN account means your progress while accessing it early will be tied to that account. Once you switch to your main PSN account (provided you purchased Nightreign on it), you have to start from the beginning.
In case you were wondering, Elden Ring and Elden Ring Nightreign are two separate titles, and you can check out our guide where all major differences between the two games are listed.
