How to play Angela in Marvel Rivals

Asgard’s lost daughter, Angela, has finally arrived in Marvel Rivals season four, and she’s absolutely brutal in her approach to taking down enemies in style.

Marvel Rivals is shaking up the Vanguard meta with the first flying tank in the game, which comes with two melee weapons similar to those of the previous hero, Blade. She’s durable and can create openings in teamfights, giving her squad the angles they need to initiate battles and bring down enemy heroes with ease.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to soaring high and delivering the ultimate judgment on your foes with Angela in Marvel Rivals.

Ability Description PC Control Controller
Seraphic Soar (Passive) Angela can glide freely through the air without a cooldown. Continuous flight builds her Attack Charge, allowing her to use it with her weapons.
Spear of Ichors (Basic Attack) Angela lunges forward with her spear while being airborne, dealing damage that increases with Attack Charge. At full charge, the weapon can deal the most damage and launch enemies. LMB RT/R2
Axes of Ichors (Basic Attack) She can use her melee twin axes on the land to make alternate powerful strikes forward, which deal increased damage as Attack Charge grows. The fourth attack propels Angela forward in a swift dash. LMB RT/R2
Shielded Stance She transforms her weapons into a shield with 350 HP and gains Attack Charge when absorbing damage. RMB LT/R2
Assassin’s Charge She enters accelerated dash state, becoming immune to knock-back and launch up. Enemies struck head-on are carried through the air for a short distance. LShift LB/L1
Divine Judgement While airborne, she dives downward, switching to twin axes and infusing the ground to make a Divine Judgement Zone. Within the zone, she gets enhanced speed and attacks that grant her Bonus Health to herself and nearby allies. E RB/R1
Wingblade Ascent While on land, she becomes airborne and switches her weapon to the Spear of Ichors. E RB/R1
Heven’s Retribution (Ultimate) Angela wraps her spear in Ribbons and hurls it on the ground with force. Upon impact, the ribbons bind to nearby enemies. She can leap to the spear’s location, damaging surrounding enemies and creating a Divine Judgment Zone. Q LS+RS Click

Angela also shares a team-up with his half-brother Thor, where she is the anchor, gaining more health alongside him. In addition, Thor gets a Thunder Spear to hurl at enemies, which restores his Thorforce for each enemy struck. He can also jump on his spear to deal a second wave of damage to the enemies. The ability also has a good synergy with Angela’s ultimate.

Angela strategy and tips in Marvel Rivals

Angela is all about flying with her passive Seraphic Soar and keeping a close eye on the fights to find the perfect moment to strike at the enemies. Her natural durability and passive flight allow her to set up favorable fights by engaging from angles most tanks cannot reach.

Unlike traditional tanks who soak up damage, her role isn’t just to soak damage—it’s to decide where and when the fight happens. Her strength is in neutralizing aerial carries with poor mobility, like Human Torch, Ultron, and many others, where she can get close to them easily and use her Spear of Ichors to nail them down.

She can switch to her Axes of Ichors when she’s on the ground to push the convoy or take a point easily while dealing heavy damage with the twin axes. It keeps her relevant in extended duels, making her a tank who isn’t just a wall but also a constant threat in melee range. Once you’re done with melee fights or need to leave a sticky situation, use Wingblade Ascent to fly up and go closer to your healers for immediate backup.

In the thick of battle, Angela excels at soaking pressure while still enabling her team. Shielded Stance lets her absorb bursts of damage while building Attack Charge, turning defense into offense. When enemies focus her, they’re not hitting your squishier allies, giving your DPS and healer the room to take down your enemies.

Angela’s ability to peel with her superior mobility ensures her backline stays safe. While she doesn’t have a ranged attack in their kit, her superior mobility allows her to get close to the enemies and fly away when she senses danger. She’s efficient with her Assassin’s Charge, which can be used to fly faster in the air, making it harder to hit her and even carrying a few enemies off the map to get easy eliminations.

Teamfights are where Angela’s true tank value shines. Divine Judgement and Heaven’s Retribution allow her to lock enemies down and empower allies with bonus health and mobility inside the zone. This makes her an ideal initiator in domination matches, where the enemy is forced to fight on her terms. Use her ultimate to trap multiple enemies at once, and suddenly Angela becomes the anchor around which your team rallies. At her best, Angela is the tank who can turn every fight into an opportunity for her squad to dominate.
