How to obtain all the rewards from the Monster Hunter Wilds beta

In Monster Hunter Wilds, a hunter triumphantly holds aloft a slab of perfectly-grilled steak.

Sharpen your weapons and prep your finest steaks, because Monster Hunter Wilds is very nearly upon us. If you participated in November's Open Beta Test 1 and/or February's Open Beta Test 2, there'll be some goodies awaiting you when you head into the full game.

To qualify for the rewards, you'll have had to make it through character creation so that the beta could register your character data (which can also be carried through to the full game). If you only booted up the beta and failed to get beyond the title screen, unfortunately you won't be able to claim anything.

Participating in either beta test nets you the Felyne weapon pendant, with each one then giving an additional set of rewards:

All Monster Hunter Beta Rewards

Open Beta Test 1

  • Mega Potion x 10
  • Ration x 5
  • Lifepowder x 5
  • Max Potion x 2
  • Herbal Medicine x 2
  • Nulberry x 2
  • Armor Sphere x 5

Open Beta Test 2

  • Felyne weapon pendant (OBT 1 reward)
  • Raw Meat x 10
  • Shock Trap x 3
  • Pitfall Trap x 3
  • Tranq Bomb x 10
  • Large Barrel Bomb x 3
  • Armor Sphere x 5
  • Flash Pod x 10
  • Large Dung Pod x 10

They're some great rewards to get you started off in your journey across the Forbidden Lands. For starters, you'll be able to capture monsters right off the bat thanks to the traps and Tranq Bombs—capturing is generally always the better option, though some hunts require you to kill and some materials have a higher chance of dropping from carving—and even give yourself a nice defence boost thanks to the armor spheres.

Most of the OBT1 rewards are hunting must-haves too, like the Mega Potion and Max Potion as well as the status-curing Nulberries and Herbal Medicine. Lifepowders are great if you're hunting with friends, as it gives a nice healing boost to everyone in the vicinity.

How to claim the beta rewards

To claim the beta rewards, you'll need to make sure that you've got the full game on the same platform you played any of the betas on. Since you're here, I presume that's PC, but Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't have cross-save. So if you played the beta on PS5, you won't be able to claim the rewards on PC or vice versa.

If you're all good on that front, shortly after arriving at the Windward Plains Base Camp, you'll be able to talk to Conut at the Support Desk, the Felyne fella standing on a crate. Scroll down to Claim Content, where all of your beta rewards will be waiting for you along with any save data bonuses from having Monster Hunter: World or Monster Hunter Rise, or DLC you've snagged.

They'll be listed as OBT Thank-You Bonus, OBT 1 Thank-You Bonus, and OBT 2 Thank-You Bonus. You can only receive each reward once—so if you've played all three betas, you'll only get the rewards listed above. No duplicates unfortunately!

If you're already itching to jump in and claim your rewards, you can check the exact Monster Hunter Wilds release times for your region, and don't forget to preload early so that you can dive right in as soon as the game unlocks.
