How to make the perfect poached egg in 60 seconds with genius kitchen hack

Tasty, nutritious and delicious - eggs are everyone's favourite breakfast treat.

Fried, boiled, scrambled, there's many variations but it's poached eggs that have seen a rise in popularity as trendy restaurants sell them alongside crushed avocado or smoked salmon as part of their up-market brunches.

But as simple as it is to make, many of us continue to get it wrong when we try it at home.

There's many different methods and gadgets to be found online in your quest for the perfect poached egg, but there is an alternative way, and it's full proof! - As you can see in the video above.

It doesn't require any saucepans, so less washing up and it only takes 60 seconds, reports SurreyLive.

All you will need is a microwave and a mug of water.

How to easily make a poached egg

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • Half a mug of water/ 200ml
Have them fried, scrambled and poached... or in chocolate form (PA/PA Wire)

Method:

  1. Fill half a mug with water.
  2. Crack an egg into it.
  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute.
  4. Use a large spoon to dish the egg out of the mug and pop it on kitchen paper to drain.
  5. Serve with whatever you want.
