How to make Rainbow Toasties as lockdown food craze sweeps Instagram

They're the lockdown food craze that has swept Instagram over the past few weeks and a This Morning chef has revealed how you can make Rainbow Toasties at home.

With children now being off school for a month, families are looking very different ways to be creative and Rainbow Toasties are a great way to do that in the kitchen.

Pictures of people's colourful sandwiches have been all over social media of late and chef Juliet Sear showed This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and millions of viewers at home how to make them, after Phillip shocked her by saying they looked "like a dog's breakfast."

To make Rainbow Toasties, you will need two slices of white bread (buttered on both side), four pots of mashed up cheese and four different bottles of food colouring - Juliet suggests blue, yellow, green and pink.

Method

*Stir in a tiny bit of different food colouring into each pot of cheese. To get it stringier use mozzarella.

*Take one piece of bread and line the different coloured cheese up in rows.

*Get the second slice of bread, put it on top and give it a squish

*Put the toastie in a frying pan, panini press or toastie maker for 3 minutes, turning it over half way through

*Serve on a plate
