How to make map coasters

You will need:
4 tiles of thick card
Old atlas or maps
Pencil
Scissors
Paint brush
Mod Podge glue
Clear sealant spray paint
Felt (optional)

1 Select a map, place a square or circle of tile over an area and use a pencil to trace around it. Repeat three times using the same map, or you could use maps from memorable holidays that you have taken.

2 Cut the maps and trim to fit the tiles as needed. Coat the top side of the tile with Mod Podge, then press the section of map over the top, smoothing gently. Do the same with the remaining three tiles.

3 Coat the tops of the coasters with Mod Podge and set aside to dry for at least one hour. Take outdoors or to a well-ventilated spot and coat with clear sealant spray.

4 Once dry, your map coasters are ready to keep marks off your furniture. You can make them scratch-safe by gluing small squares of felt to the bottom.
