I got quite accustomed to visiting Starbucks often when I was 18 and needed somewhere with wifi on my lunch breaks.
It didn't take long for me to become a regular, getting some drink secrets off the people I saw most days.
And then during my last year of university I secured a green apron and worked there around my studies, when you work at Starbucks you get to have a free drink before you start, in the middle of your shift and after you finish working.
This was a massive appeal to me, and it meant that I was able to experiment and look for 'secret menu' items.
I'd heard of a 'Butterbeer' latte online, but it had seemed quite complicated so I opted to not order it. Until I started working at Starbucks.
Now, it is somewhat of a seasonal drink due to the syrups used. But it's now possible to make it.
Whenever you ask for a flavour of syrup it's standard to put quite a few pumps in, it's dependant on size but I would recommend asking for less pumps for this drink otherwise it gets sickly.

Here's how you order: ask for a latte with a milk of your choice, I would recommend one without a strong flavour (yes, that means coconut is out).
Then you want to add Toffee Nut syrup, Caramel Syrup and Cinnamon Dolce Syrup in equal amounts.
So you don't end up with an overly sweet drink, I would suggest the following:
- 1 pump of each for a Short
- 2 pumps of each for a Tall
- 2 pumps of each for a Grande
- 3 pumps of each for a Venti
You can get the full amount of syrup, but a typical Venti latte would only have five pumps of syrup rather than the proposed nine.
Tweak it to your taste, I think 2 pumps of each is a good middle ground but you can have it as sweet as you'd like.
You can also have this as an iced latte or as a Frappuccino, although the weather is quite cold outside.
Add whipped cream for the full experience and while Toffee Nut is here, maybe get the sprinkles that come with the Toffee Nut Latte too!
If you're a Starbucks Gold member, then you'll be able to get the syrups and whipped cream for free.
If not it will cost extra, but it's a fun treat for any Harry Potter fans - although this is not an official Harry Potter drink, just inspired by the drink we grew up hearing about.
