The Copper Golem was added to Minecraft as part of the Copper Age update, but unlike a number of mobs you'll find in the game, this one won't randomly spawn in the overworld. You'll need to handmake a Copper Golem for yourself, and the game doesn't exactly guide you in how to do so. Fortunately, it's incredibly easy, and once you know what you're doing you'll have a base full of tiny organisers.
If you're a big adventurer in Minecraft, or if you just like a neat and tidy base, having a Copper Golem around will massively help. They'll root through copper chests and remove items before taking them to standard chests, saving you the stress of doing it yourself. If you're looking for some helping hands, here's how to spawn them for yourself.
How to make a Copper Golem in Minecraft
To make a Copper Golem in Minecraft, all you need to do is place a carved pumpkin or jack o'lantern on top of a copper block. The mob will immediately spring to life once you've placed the carved pumpkin, indicating that you've done it correctly. If you don't immediately see a Copper Golem in front of you, it's worth noting that the pumpkin has to be placed last. The block of copper you use can also be at any oxidation or waxed stage, so there's no need to craft an entirely new one if you have a block lying around.
When the Golem spawns, the block of copper you've placed will become a copper chest, and the golem will take the place of the pumpkin. If you decide to create a golem next to an existing copper chest, a second chest won't spawn. Instead, the first chest will become a large chest, similar to when you place two wooden chests next to each other in the game.
Over time, the Copper Golem will oxidise like all copper products do. This has three stages, so it takes a decent amount of time for the colouration of the golem to start to change. But eventually, they will become copper golem statues if you don't wax them with honeycomb or remove the oxidation with an axe. You can bring them back to life by using an axe repeatedly to remove the oxidation until they reanimate, and waxing them with a honeycomb will prevent them from turning back into a statue so they can go straight back to sorting.
