How to keep washing 'white and bright' with 38p social media hack

Keeping clothes sparkling white is simple and cheap, according to a social media trend.

You can keep those whites gleaming for just 38p following the process shared by one TikTok users.

The trend is doing the rounds on social media, promising the keep those dull grey shades away after just one spin in the washing machine.

Shared by @burcibaci, the hack includes adding just one item to your routine - washing up liquid.

According to The Mirror, the TikToker swears by the trick that can make your clothes look as good as new.

All you need to do is add a small amount of washing up liquid to a small cap, before throwing it in the washer with your white load, although the TikToker recommends you do this in addition to your washing detergent, rather than in its place.

''I would also add your detergent too for the best clean," she wrote alongside the clip, which has since been viewed more than 200,000 times.

Although she used a pale coloured Fairy Liquid, other TikTok users recommended blue soaps as they can be used to cancel out the yellow tones in the white materials.

Many people questioned how the bubbles from the soap didn't overflow, but @burcibaci simply explained that you only have to use a very small amount for it to be effective.

"It also makes a great stain remover! One part dawn dish soap, one part hydrogen peroxide," one helpful TikToker commented. Everyday is a school day.
