In short, you can randomly find them in the wild or follow the markers directly to your next spot and claim their rewards. You also won't be locked out of previous caches if you rank up. Instead, you'll just have more goodies to obtain as you run around and fight enemies.

Alongside usual items like weapons, potions, and other consumables, you'll also receive Hero items in later ranks. Below is a list of every Hero weapon you can find:
