How to go a week without washing your hair and it won't get greasy using this woman's easy follow steps

Washing your hair is the simplest yet really one of the most tedious and time consuming processes we go through, many of us on daily basis.

Exercising, excessively playing with your hair throughout the day and overuse of products can all make it go greasy quickly.

So, anything we can do to cut down the number of times we have to go through the gruelling process is appreciated.

Thankfully, a woman has an answer for us.

TikTok user @annatocks revealed her hair washing routine in a video which she shared to her channel, and fans can't wait to try it out for themselves.

She explains that a DIY clarifying rinse, made from apple cider vinegar, baking soda and warm water - along with a little help from dry shampoo - is what helps to keep her hair looking fresh for an entire week, reports The Mirror.

According to Anna, the concoction of vinegar mixed with baking soda "balances the scalp PH an clarifies the root area - meaning it removes any build up!".

Before washing her hair, Anna aggravates her scalp with a hairbrush until "it hurts in a good, tingly way", which helps to get rid of any of that dead scalp skin, or dry-shampoo build up.

She then adds a teaspoon of baking soda and a couple of splashes of apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water, before washing her hair in this order - water, clarifying rinse, water, shampoo twice and then condition.

You may be thinking, why shampoo twice?

The first time lifts the dirt from the root and the second removes it from the rest of the hair.

After washing her hair, she adds a hair product to the ends of her hair - you could use a split-end or treatment.

Now, the next step is a little odd.

Anna blow dries her roots, but leaves the ends to air dry.

Although she admits she doesn't know the science behind this, she says: "air drying my roots is a disaster".

Jessica Thomas for  Bustle  explains that hair that has been dried with a hairdryer has a rouge texture which means the oils on your scalp take longer to appear, and letting your hair dry whilst you sleep can cause it to tangle and causes grease - the wet hair on your scalp wouldn't help either.

To prolong the dreaded hair wash, Anna also adds a little dry shampoo around days three or four, and suggests spraying it before you go to bed to really let it sink in.

And people were quick to praise her for sharing the handy tip.

One person said: "Yes girl I'm a cosmetologist and I approve. With this routine even the oiliest of scalps will last for days!"

Another said: "Love this!!!"

A third revealed: "Washed my hair every day and it was so greasy all the time! I started going a week since quarantine and it's made the biggest difference!"

Another tip Anna shared in the comment section was blow drying your roots when your hair starts to get a little greasy, especially after a sweaty workout.

But, for those of you with coloured hair, be careful - this mixture could make it fade faster.
