The Royal Mint has released a limited-edition Monopoly 50p coin to celebrate 90 years of the beloved London-based board game.
The commemorative, colourful coin features icons from the game, including Mr Monopoly, or Milburn Pennybags, property cards and playing pieces including the thimble and top hat.
The Royal Mint said there is also a feature on the GO sign which transitions to reveal the M money symbol when the coin is tilted.
The coin has been released to celebrate the game which has been sold more than 275 million times globally and translated into 47 languages.
Monopoly is the first board game to be honoured on a piece of UK currency by the Royal Mint.
An estimated 275 billion people have played the game which has become a global phenomenon since being introduced in 1935 by the Waddingtons.
The traditional game, which includes iconic London landmarks such as Oxford Street, King’s Cross station and Fleet Street, has been adapted to feature other British landmarks and locations.
