How to get your gaming setup ready for Elden Ring Nightreign

Someone holds an Xbox controller in front of a TV with Elden Ring: Nightreign on it.

Elden Ring Nightreign is coming out in a few days, and unlike most FromSoftware games, it's an always-online co-op roguelite. This means that if your internet isn't up to the task, you may be dealing with lag and get pulverized by its tough bosses. Luckily, EE WiFi has a handy feature that can help ensure you have the best experience possible.

If you live with a partner, parents, roommates, or children, you'll know that your internet speed can often slow down when a lot of people are connected to the WiFi and are all streaming or in work meetings. That's why EE has an option to prioritize gaming.

If you have an EE Smart Hub Plus or Smart Hub Pro with Wifi 7, you can turn on Game Mode via the EE WiFi Enhancer on the EE app so that your router knows to give as much bandwidth as possible to your online games.

This should mean that you get lower ping and less lag when playing a competitive or co-op game with your friends, perfect for getting those parries in when you're playing Nightreign. Did you know you can even parry with a bow and arrow now?

Once you're done gaming, you can switch back to Work Mode so that your Zoom calls and Google Meets are smooth and no one realizes what you spent your lunch break doing.

As a co-op game, Elden Ring Nightreign will be best if you're a proper team player. It's great to have a stable internet connection, but if you're going for the weaker enemies while your squad needs help with a boss, you could still lose. So, you should make sure you've got a decent pair of headphones so you can talk to your team.

If you're on Xbox or PC, you can get the Razer BlackShark V2 X Xbox Wired Gaming Headset for just £44.99. It has a mute button on the mic itself, so you can make sure your friends don't overhear your toilet breaks, and it comes with spatial audio so you know where all the enemies are. EE has free delivery within three days, so it'll arrive just in time for Nightreign.

For PS5 players like myself, there's the Pulse Elite Bluetooth Wireless Headset. It has 3D audio support and 30 hours of battery life, so you won't have to charge it in between rounds of Nightreign. Even if you do find you've forgotten to charge it in a while, you can get two hours of battery life with just a quick 10-minute charge, so you won't be delaying your play time.

At £126 it's more expensive than the Xbox and PC headsets, but you can pay it off via your EE phone bill over the course of 11 months so that you can spread the cost.

If you plan to play Elden Ring Nightreign for more than a couple rounds at a time, it would be a good idea to make sure you have a proper gaming chair too. The Anda Seat Phantom 3 Premium Large Gaming Chair is a solid option with lumbar and head pillows as well as an adjustable height.

It's also got linen fabric and soft foam padding to keep you comfy even as the bosses make you sweat, and you can recline it back to 160° whenever you want to take a break from looking at your screen. It comes with a six-year warranty and costs £279.99.

If you need any other accessories, controllers, or even consoles, there's plenty for you to find on the EE Game Store.
