How to get Trade Bars in Elder Scrolls Online (ESO)

The Elder Scrolls Online has a plethora of events, and you'd be hard-pressed to go a month without any celebration. Whether it's cosmetics, furnishings, or gameplay items, there's almost always something to grab in ESO—as long as you have the Trade Bars to buy it.

Trade Bars are ESO's new event currency. This limited-time resource debuted with the 2026 Jester's Festival, replacing the old Event Tickets, and it's only available during active events. Trade Bars don't go away once an event ends, however, so there's no need to hurry to spend them all before they disappear.

In fact, with the addition of the Gold Goast Bazaar tab of the Crown Store, you might just end up wanting to save up for high-value items, such as costumes and even houses. Here's how you can get Trade Bars in ESO.

Completing your first daily event quest in ESO's Jester Festival awards you with a golden Stupendous Jester's Festival Box. This contains 300 Trade Bars, as well as event goodies like a page of the One Bad Knight style.

The easiest way to start ESO's Jester Festival dailies is to pick up the event Quest Starter for free in the Crown Store. This will point you to the impersonators of the three alliance leaders, marked with a special icon on the map:

  • Jester King Jorunn outside Ebonheart in Stonefalls
  • Jester Queen Ayrenn outside Vulkhel Guard in Auridon
  • Jester King Emeric near Daggerfall in Glenumbra

Each ruler will have different daily quests, with other dailies posted nearby. Complete your first quest every day for Trade Bars. Finishing the rest of them will also award you with event-related items, but no trade bars.

Can you farm Trade Bars in ESO?

Trade Bars in ESO are time-gated, so you can't farm them. You can only get a set amount of Trade Bars during each run. For Jester's Festival, you get 300 Trade Bars on your first daily completion, then you must wait until the next day to grab more. ESO's daily reset is at 5am CT, and event quests will reset alongside daily crafting writs and most other lockouts.

How to use Trade Bars in ESO

You can use Trade Bars in two locations: The Impresario event vendor and the new Gold Coast Bazaar tab of the Crown Store.

The Impresario sets up camp outside most major cities. She appears on the map with an icon similar to a calendar with a star inside it, offering rewards for the current event. You can spend your Trade Bars even when there's no event running, though the offerings might be limited.

If you're looking for big-ticket items, however, the Gold Coast Bazaar is your best bet. There, you can grab any items you may have missed from previous events, as well as other spicy offerings. These take a lot more Trade Bars than your average event, so you might need to save up for them.
