If you’re a fan of the long ball, then last night was arguably the best night of the Major League Baseball season for you — the Home Run Derby. And the winner of baseball’s equivalent to the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest? None other than Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, MLB’s current home run leader and an American League MVP candidate. In turn, MLB The Show 25 has given Raleigh a truly great card to commemorate his performance.
However, it’s not going to be easy to get. And, if you’re short on Stubs, it may be downright impossible. So, let’s guide you through on how to get the Home Run Derby Cal Raleigh card in MLB The Show 25, and if it’s worth it.
How To Get The Home Run Derby Cal Raleigh In MLB The Show 25

In order to get the Home Run Derby version of Cal Raleigh (which is a 99 OVR switch-hitter, for your information), you’ll need to complete the 2025 Home Run Derby Collection. And, there’s no easy way to say this, but it is expensive.
For one, it requires you to collect all 7 of the cards in the 2025 Home Run Derby series. Unfortunately, only one of those cards can be obtained for free, and that’s Brent Rooker, who can be obtained by completing the 2025 Home Run Derby Program. To make matters worse, there are no Moments in the program, only Missions. So, it’ll be a real grind.
On top of that? You’ll need to get cards from packs. If you happened to get 2 or more of the winning vouchers from the HRD prediction packs, then you’ll get at least one HRD pack. If you have 3 losing vouchers, then you’ll be able to get one pack. There is also a pack obtainable through the HRD Program.
So, assuming you didn’t get enough vouchers on either the winning or losing side to obtain an HRD pack (such as yours truly), it’s going to be very costly to get enough cards for the collection, at least right now. As of the writing of this article, the price for all of the 2025 Home Run Derby cards will be about 235,000 Stubs, and that’s assuming you get the cards for the sell orders on the lower end — many cards will likely go for a bit more, putting the total around closer to 250,000 Stubs or so.
So, is the collection for Cal Raleigh worth it? Honestly, it really depends on what pulls you get from the packs.
Assuming you’re able to get at least three of the 2025 HRD packs and get at least one rare round pull — Byron Buxton, Oneil Cruz, or Junior Caminero — then yeah, I’d say going in for the rest is worth your time. Raleigh is an absolutely insane hitter, a switch-hitter, and a catcher, all of which are important in a lineup.
That said, if you already have a catcher like the 2025 All-Star Will Smith, then maybe you can hold off until the cards get a bit cheaper.
