Christmas has come early in Build a Zoo, and it brought along new weather, mutations, pets, and a Christmas Event for players to grind. How to Get the Christmas Mutation in Build a Zoo
The Christmas Mutation got added to Build a Zoo with the recent Christmas Event update. If you want to complete the Day 1 Christmas Event quests, you’ll have to hatch 5 Christmas Mutation pets. Completing this quest will give you 20 Christmas Hats.
There are two ways of getting Christmas-mutated pets in Build a Zoo:
- Purchase and hatch Christmas-mutated Eggs. These eggs have a chance of spawning on your conveyor belt during the Christmas Weather and will have a Santa Hat icon over them. The Christmas Weather is a new weather event added to the game that spawns randomly and lasts for 5 minutes.
- Claim and hatch Yeti Eggs. Yeti Eggs can be obtained from the Christmas Event. Click on the Christmas Event button and go to the Event Egg menu to claim a free Yeti Egg every 30 minutes. There is a 20% chance that the Yeti Egg will have the Christmas Mutation. You can claim up to 6 Yeti Eggs every day for free.
Christmas-mutated eggs cost 7.5x more than their normal versions. So, you’ll need plenty of cash if you want to get the Christmas Mutation on your pets in Build a Zoo. Moreover, these eggs also take 3.5x longer to hatch. You might have to use a few Speed Hourglasses to complete the quest quickly and get those Santa Hats.
Christmas-mutated pets earn 15x more than their normal versions.
How to get the Christmas Hidden Pet in Build a Zoo
A hidden pet has been added to Build a Zoo that players can only obtain during the Christmas Event. Not much is known about this hidden pet. If you want to get it, you have to hatch the following eggs:
- Void Egg
- Slyfox Egg
- Drakespine Egg
- Greenstorm Egg
Where to use the Santa Hats in Build a Zoo
The Santa Hats are the main currency of the Build a Zoo Christmas Event. As you complete the different quests of the Christmas Event, you’ll earn Santa Hats, also called Token Points. You can then redeem these Santa Hats at the Christmas Event Shop to buy any of the following:

The Candy Cane, a Mythical Food item, has a chance of applying the Christmas Mutation to your Big Pets. You can get the Candy Cane from the Christmas Event Shop for 400 Hats or buy it from the Food Shop for 80B.
To get the Blizzard in Build a Zoo, you need to hatch the Yeti Egg. The Blizzard is a Prismatic pet and has a 1% chance of hatching from the Yeti Egg.
Yes, Yeti Eggs have an equal chance (20%) of having any of the mutations available in Build a Zoo. Christmas Mutation is not the only mutation that Yeti Eggs can have.
