If you're looking to take on the enemy challenge in one of the tents at the Town of Horloge, you'll first have to get the Certificate of Balloonery in the Throes of the Watchmaker. How Do I Complete the Certificate of Balloonery in Sea of Stars Throes of the Watchmaker?
There are two secret areas in the Sea of Stars DLC that you need to explore to find the Certificate of Balloonery in Sea of Stars. The first area sets up your path to the second area where you'll actually find the item.
- First, head on over to the cliffside with a tightrope connecting the two sides.
- Walk over the rope and into the cave.
- You'll be stuck behind a Cube. Push it and it will drop down onto a ledge.
- Jump down onto it and enter the secret area here (make sure to pick up the Barbapapa item for revivals in battles).
- Keep going until you reach a section with a bunch of balloons and a Fan Puzzle. Let's solve it.
How Do You Solve the Fan Puzzle in Throes of the Watchmaker?
There are a lot of floors and ladders to climb, but to solve the Fan Puzzle in the Town of Horlege, you just have to time when you push the Cubes in (a total of three). The first cube that you need to push is all the way at the top, and the order is: top, middle, bottom. Here's how to reach the highest level of the puzzle.
- Climb up the ladder on the left and get onto the right platform. Do not push the Cube in, or you'll lose a part of your path!
- Jump across to the right, then grapple.
- Go up the second set of ladders, jump to the left, and finally the third set of ladders.
- At the top, push the first Cube in.
- Jump down to push the middle Cube in.
- And finally, do the lowest Cube third.
- Click on the lever and jump all the way down.
- Once on the ground, use your Grapple to pull out the hidden Cube, and the fan will activate, blowing away the Balloons.
Where Do I Find the Certificate of Balloonery?
You can find the Certificate of Balloonery to the left and down of the Main Square in Town of Horloge. You'll see the balloons from the fan room now making you a path across the gap. Jump on top of them, pick up the Sugar cubes from the Jester, then go down the ladders. Here you'll find a chest hiding your grand prize, the Certificate of Balloonery.

The Certificate of Balloonery Challenge is located in the right side of Town of Horloge, near the many stands you can shop at. Once you have the Certificate, you can start the challenge. Keep in mind that the enemies are very powerful, so you should avoid picking a fight with them until you are also stronger.
It is hidden in a secret area near the main square of Town of Horloge. You first have to complete a Fan puzzle in a different secret area (where the tightrope is), to even think of getting it.
You have to push the Cubes in an exact order to activate the Fan and complete the puzzle. The order is: top cube, middle cube, bottom cube, and then use the grapple to pull out the hidden cube at the ground level.
To sum it up, you have to have a tightrope act (very circus topical), solve a Fan puzzle, jump across some brightly colored balloons, and then you'll finally find the hidden chest with the Certificate of Balloonery. Not too complicated, you can do it! While you can find the Certificate itself early, I suggest staying away from the Challenge until you've levelled up, as the enemies are powerful and you will get, honestly, destroyed.
