How to get 'Spell Energy' in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, the new mobile game from Pokemon Go-maker Niantic, was released on Thursday - .

Thousands of people all over the world are already playing the augmented reality game, which is predicted to be a smash hit.

But there's one aspect of the game that is causing frustration among players, and that's "Spell Energy".

Spell Energy is the Wizards Unite's equivalent of Poke Balls in Pokemon Go. The maximum amount of Spell Energy you can carry at any one time is 75, and each spell you cast requires one unit of spell energy.

A key part of the game is fighting Confoundables (evil beasts like death eaters, dark wizards, and werewolves) to free the Foundable they're imprisoning (magical objects that have made their way into the muggle world).

As defeating Confoundable often takes several attempts with your wand, Spell Energy can quickly become depleted.

Once you run out of spell energy, you can't fight at all, so you essentially have to stop playing the game until you can find some more.

How to get more Spell Energy

The easiest way to collect spell energy is by eating food at Inns - which are the Wizards Unite's version of PokeStops.

However, while Pokemon Go lets you collect two to three Poke Balls per spin of a PokeStop, Wizards Unite only lets you collect one unit of spell energy per Inn visit.

You then have to wait five minutes before you're allowed to interact with that same Inn again.

Your other option for collecting more Spell Energy is to buy some from the Wiseacres store in Diagon Alley, using Gold Coins.

These coins can be earned through gameplay, or you can buy them with your heard-earned muggle money.

In Wiseacres, you'll also have the option to increase your Spell Energy capacity by 10, in exchange for 150 Gold Coins.
