The Shadow Mantle in DELTARUNE is a critical piece of armor that you need to obtain to face more challenging bosses, but you need to complete several other challenges and defeat a powerful enemy to get your hands on this elusive loot.
In DELTARUNE Chapter 1, the Shadow Mantle item was briefly speculated to be the King’s cape, but now it’s finally available to use in Chapter 3. Here’s everything that you need to know about the Shadow Mantle in DELTARUNE.
How to get Shadow Mantle in DELTARUNE

To get the Shadow Mantle in DELTARUNE, you need to defeat the mini secret boss in Chapter 3 and open a chest by going inside the game to get it. However, reaching the mini final boss is difficult, and you’d need to follow a specific path and score S ranks in a few mini-games.
Here is a quick breakdown:
- Play the Tenna mini-games and reach S tier in each of the acts.
- In the first round, get the sword and eliminate all enemies until you get enough points to get the ability to cut trees.
- Head straight up immediately after leaving the area to find a big forest. Cut down the trees and secure the Ice Key by opening a red chest.
After that, finish the regular board chats with the NPCs and eventually make your way back to the console for round two. Now, you need to get the sword by going Left -> Left -> Straight -> cave to find the weapon. After that, decimate all the enemies on the map and use the boat in the river on the right side to go straight into the ferns guarding the waterfall. This is the same boat that you’d have used to go from left to right and defeat enemies. Remove the ferns with your sword, and go straight. It’ll lead you to another boat with an open sea.
Get up on the boat and follow these directions to reach the Left -> Left -> Left -> Left -> Left -> Straight north until you find a docking place on a white plane. Get on that platform and follow the trail until you find a blue-colored door where you can use the Ice Key.
In this Ice Palace area, defeat all the enemies until you find a mage with white robes. Poke him a bit to wake him up, and he’ll join your squad, freezing enemies that you face. Now, follow the path that the mage wants you to take. If you go in a different direction, it’ll stop following you, telling you that the path is wrong. Once you eventually find the main door to use the Ice Key again, enter the area to finish the second console playing session and receive a Shelter key.
Now, progress through the game until you come to the console again, and it’s the showdown. You need to defeat enemies and find the pink colored NPC to find the trail to a yellow region, where you should find a red barn door. Use your Shelter key here, and now the secret boss should appear in three forms.
Defeat the boss, and he will lead you to the red chest containing the Shadow Mantle Armor, while the in-game character won’t be able to get it because of their height. You can get it after it leaves the game and stares at you.
