You can craft Rubber at your base using Lucifer Rotsacs, and two of them are required to make a single Rubber.

Lucifer Rotsacs are easy to find in your starting biome because of their glowing yellow appearance, making them easy to spot from a distance. They are commonly found along the ocean floor, and searching for them at night helps even more since their glow becomes far more visible in the dark.

Keep in mind that you need a fully functioning Fabricator to craft Rubber, and the corrupted Fabricator inside your starting Lifepod cannot make it. If you haven’t already, use the Habitat Builder to set up a small base and place a working Fabricator there before trying to craft it.

You can use Rubber in Subnautica 2 to get your hands on some important mobility and oxygen upgrades, such as the Basic Fins and Standard Air Tank. The Basic Fins increase your swimming speed, making early exploration and resource gathering much easier. Meanwhile, the Standard Air Tank greatly boosts your oxygen capacity, letting you stay underwater longer and safely explore deeper areas.

Rubber can also be used to craft emergency tools like the Air Bladder, which is especially useful during the early and mid-game since it can quickly carry you to the surface for oxygen in dangerous situations. It is also used in simple decoration items like the Stool for customizing your base interior.
