One trick went viral on TikTok with 14.9k likes and over nearly 3k shares.

In the video, the woman, who goes by the handle @bysandradacosta, pours apple cider vinegar and washing up liquid in a glass and claims the flies get stuck in the solution.

Nearly 200 hundred people commented on the video praising her cleaning hack.

One replied: "Thanks so much! So sick of them!"

A second said: "Thank god! They are doing my head in."

Another added: "This is the best hack!"

And when asked if normal vinegar is okay, Sandra replied: "You can try but they seem to like apple cider vinegar. The apple cider vinegar attracts them and the soap traps them."

Meanwhile, on popular Facebook group Cleaning Tips and DIY, when one person asked about getting rid of flies, another commented something similar.

She suggested: "Paper cup, cider vinegar - couple drops fairy liquid. Cover with cling film & poke a couple of holes. They’ll go into cup and get trapped."
