While Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series offers a more sim-arcade style, Skate provides something completely out of the box. Here, everything depends on your playstyle. You can either shred around with the board like a normal human being or go wild with skydives, parkour, and various jawdropping moves.
Speaking of going wild, reaching the top of the flashy skyscrapers in San Vansterdam remains a challenge for many players. These high points are on everyone’s wish-list as they not only provide a beautiful view and satisfy curiosity, but also help jumping off and making combos on the descent.
Since a lot of fans are clueless in this regard, directions are all they need to work their way up confidently. So, here’s everything you need to know to climb any building in Skate 4 without roaming around aimlessly.
How To Climb Buildings Easily In Skate 4

Using Launch Glitches
The easiest way to fly around San Vansterdam and land on the top of any building is through launch glitches. If not patched, players can simply follow a couple steps and shoot themselves high up in the air creating loads of opportunities to land on spots that the game doesn’t allow.
Since these are regularly patched through updates, check our guide on the Season 1 Skate launch glitch to avail this opportunity while you still can.
Explore And Try
There’s no fixed way to climb as each building may offer different routes to reach the top. To look for a way, you have to explore around the chosen skyscraper and look for opportunities that can boost you up.
This should always be your first step. Skate towards the bottom, and look around with different angles and props. Doing so will help you discover potential routes that can be experimented with. If you fail, you can always backtrack and find a different workaround.
Cranes Are Your Best Friend
While exploring, one of the biggest highlights that indicate a right climbing path are the cranes. Countless buildings in Skate 4 feature cranes and other external construction props that might be your ticket to the top.
These are often highlighted as red and upon reaching, they offer ladder-like structure that can easily be parkoured through to keep on elevating. Sometimes such props can even fool you into a dead end but that’s just a distraction. If you have already climbed, look around and there must be something to continue your journey upwards.
Ramps, Ledges, And Fire Escapes
Apart from cranes, other props such as ramps, ledges, and fire escapes can also offer a way up. These are often placed together so players can use them combined and keep on elevating.
For example, you can go high with a ramp, hop off your skateboard to grab a ledge, and continue upwards until you reach the desired platform.
Placing Markers For Faster Climbs
Since developers didn’t focus too much on high climbs, the game is prone to glitching and behaving awkwardly during your way up. You could be nearly making it to the top after considerable efforts and Skate may glitch you all the way down.
To prevent this from happening, placing a respawn marker is wise after every tricky climb. For instance, if you have spent a lot of time reaching a terrace and there’s still more to go, deploy a respawn marker to continue even after a sticky situation. This way, you’ll continue halfway rather than a complete restart.
With these things considered, climbing onto the top of any building in Skate 4 will be at your fingertips. Though jump glitches are your bread and butter here, it’s still better to practice ascending yourself to become a flexible player.
