How to get on Gogglebox and how much you earn

The makers of hit TV show Gogglebox have halted their search for new faces due to lockdown.

Armchair critic participants such as Scarlett Moffatt and the "Nuttys" Giles Wood and Mary Killen were scouted in person.

So social distancing has prevented castings crews from scouring the UK for potential new stars.

Stephen Lambert, the show's creator, said: "We are not currently casting and there is no way to apply to be on Gogglebox.

"Everybody on Gogglebox has been found and persuaded to be on the show and I think that’s the key to why they are likeable and why the show works, because we get to know these people.

"We’ve never advertised for people on Gogglebox."

Cast members are treated to free takeaways to aid their viewing pleasure, The Mirror reports.

As well as this, they get paid a pleasant £1,500 a month for their participation in the show.

Gogglebox airs on Fridays at 8pm on Channel 4.
