What are Nova Crystals for in Fortnite Droid Tycoon?
Nova Crystals are a special currency that can be spent at the Nova Shop in Droid Tycoon. This store features four different types of goods you can purchase.
- Core upgrades – This includes options for boosting your overall stats, like your maximum health, overall damage output, movement speed, flawless charm, and more.
- Workshop improvements – Offers upgrades for your workshop, including options like an additional lounge slot, alerts for when Droids needed to Rebirth appear at the Sandcrawler, a collect all option, and more.
- Cosmetic assets – This includes purely decorative options that don’t affect gameplay, like new base paint colors and Droid accessories.
- Iconic Droids – Allows you to purchase special Iconic Droids that have unique abilities and can only be acquired from special events, like BB-8 and Mister Bones.
How to earn Nova Crystals in Fortnite Droid Tycoon
You can earn Nova Crystals by completing certain daily quests or activating a Super Rebirth. These are the only two methods for acquiring this currency, so it’s quite rare and difficult to stock up on.
For the daily mission method, you’ll only ever see one quest per day that grants this currency as a reward. You also only get one Nova Crystal for your efforts. It’s not much, but even just one of these crystals can buy you some powerful goods, so it’s certainly still worth doing. Try to check off the quest that has a Nova Crystal listed as one of the rewards you earn for completion on a daily basis to efficiently work on gathering this currency.
The Super Rebirth system is where the real Nova Crystal earning happens. Upon triggering one, you’ll get a massive amount of Nova Crystals as a reward. The higher your Rebirth level is, the more Nova Crystals you’ll earn, so it’s generally a good idea to wait until you’ve progressed pretty far, ideally around level 23. Triggering a Super Rebirth is a very bold endeavor, as you lose a lot of your hard work for activating it, but it does come with quite an array of rewards, buffs, and overall upgrades that make it well worth doing.
There are plenty of other tricky tasks you can work on in Droid Tycoon while also increasing your Nova Crystal count. Some good ones to focus on are stealing Droid Blueprints, getting a Groundmech Droid, selling Blueprints, and using the Rebirth Station to Rebirth.
