How to get Moss in Arc Raiders

Arc Raides Moss location: A player looking at a log with moss balls on it in the Dried Riverbed area of Riven Tides.

Would you believe it, Moss has been in Arc Raiders since launch? It's easy to overlook this rootless plant; after all, its only use until now has been to provide a minuscule amount of healing and as a material used to craft Defibrillators. But the Riven Tides update has given Moss a new purpose in the form of the Avian Alarm project.

Suddenly we're all topside gazing at the ground to find some Moss to donate to our bird sanctuary. As for what the birds do with it? Hell if I know, but that's what the project demands.

How to get Moss in Arc Raiders

The best place to find Moss is on the branches along the Dried Riverbed leading from the far south of the Riven Tides map, almost down to the Port Authority Building in the north. This long stretch of sand has tons of dried logs that can have one or two balls of Moss spawn on them.

There are so many potential spawns in this area that I actually managed to get 13 Moss in a single run, which is one more than you need for the Avian Alarm project. You can also find Agave here, which you'll need for the fourth stage of the project.

Another good location is inside the tall cylindrical planters in the Hydroponic Dome Complex in the north of Dam Battlegrounds, where it regularly spawns alongside other Nature items. However, I tried looking here after the latest update and it's been pilfered every time, since it's a well-known location for finding Moss. The Riven Tides location I mentioned, though, was free pickings because it's new and secret (or at least it was, tehe).

It's also a possible spawn inside the wicker basket containers you find dotted around the maps during the Lush Blooms modifier, though this map condition only appears every few hours.

You can actually also buy five Moss per day from Celeste, costing ten Assorted Seeds each. Given you need to donate 12 Moss to the Avian Alarm project, relying on this source alone would take you three days. I'd buy as many as you can, then grab some extra from the Dried Riverbed or Hydroponic Dome Complex, and you'll get it done in no time.
