How to get Lucifer Rotsac in Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 Lucifer Rotsac: Two Lucifer Rotsac plants growing amongst coral in a rocky crevice.

Lucifer Rotsac is a very important plant in Subnautica 2, since it's used to make rubber. That's pretty handy when you're trying to survive on a hostile alien water planet and desperately create sealed environments so you don't drown. But it's not immediately obvious where you're meant to find it.

Thankfully it's actually really easy to collect wholesale, so you won't need to do tons of back and forth, unlike silver, which will be the main hurdle in your initial hours under the ocean.

How to get Lucifer Rotsac in Subnautica 2

Lucifer Rotsacs are glowing orange orbs nestled inside green coral plants, known as Cradle Shootroots. The best place to find Lucifer Rotsac is just 80 meters directly southwest of the Lifepod, surrounding a rocky archway. As demonstrated in the video above, I've found roughly 16 Lucifer Rotsacs here, and they'll respawn periodically, too.

As you venture further into the ocean, you'll see that Lucifer Rotsac is actually quite common, often spawning tucked against rock formations and inside caves.

You can collect the Lucifer Rotsac by hand. The Cradle Shootroots, however, must be cut using your Survival Multitool, but can be a great source of fibrous pulp early on. And you'll want a bunch of that too, since it can be used to make basic oily salads as well as fiber, another component in Basic Fins.

Two Lucifer Rotsacs can be turned into rubber at any fabricator, including in your Lifepod. And rubber's required to make a bunch of early items, including Air Bladders and a Standard Air Tank.
